Bring the "Church" to Them!
Have you noticed that some of the regular attenders at First UM Church are no longer here now? Do you wonder "Why?" Perhaps they don't drive a vehicle anymore, or perhaps it's their health. The absence of these folks can easily go unnoticed. As you read this, does it trigger your memory of people that you remember who attended church here (perhaps close to where you sit now), but aren't here now? If these folks aren't able to come to church here, then let's bring the "Church" to them, one visit at a time!
Please consider becoming a volunteer-no past experience required; mostly afternoon hours! If you've never visited before, or are hesitant to go by yourself, it can be arranged for you to go with another volunteer. Most volunteers visit once a month, but others prefer to visit only "as needed".
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer*, or have more questions, please call Sue Sullivan (717) 225-4017, or text her at (717) 521-4932.
*female, male and couple volunteers are needed.

Special Mission Offering
On next Sunday, November 17th, a special offering will be taken for the United Methodist Home for Children. Located in Mechanicsburg, this facility is home to local children who are victims of their social environment. This program provides emergency shelter and residential care for children ages 12-20 of all races and religions. Teens live in a cottage environment and are supported by caring staff until their families are able to heal and once again care for them. UM Home for Children is a place of compassion and caring for hurting children. You can support this organization through a contribution in the envelope in the 11/17 church bulletin. Thank you.
